For the new concert hall ‘Elbphilharmonie’ in Hamburg, architect Daniel Schöning and his office WRS ARCHITEKTEN & STADTPLANER together with German designers Eva Marguerre and Marcel Besau have developed an interior concept featuring pieces from the e15 collection of furniture and lighting. In collaboration with e15, the trio has also realised a range of custom furniture for the foyers and lounges.
With a focus on materiality, the interior concept creates a distinct and memorable impression while giving room to the sophisticated architecture by Herzog & de Meuron. Due to its monochromatic palette, the furniture integrates intuitively, forming a consistent aesthetic. For the foyers of the concert hall, Eva Marguerre, Marcel Besau and Daniel Schöning designed a product family consisting of a high table, side table and bench which was realised in collaboration with e15. Building on simple geometrical shapes, the high table and side table with marble top as well as the bench with upholstered seat in Kvadrat’s fabric Basel create a core element in the interior concept. With their powder-coated steel base in black and white and the exchangeable surfaces, the pieces are ideally suitable for contract purposes and will become part of the e15 collection in 2017.
